AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) – The Austin Independent School District (ISD) will receive $13.8 million from the Federal Education Jobs Fund. According to the Austin Business Journal, the money will be used to help save education jobs.
Districts that applied for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant in 2009 were automatically eligible for funding during this year’s round. Texas as a whole received $830 million from the program.
The amount granted is based on the weighted average of daily attendance.
A few other recipients include:
- Rock Rock ISD – $6.9 million
- Leander ISD – $4.9 million
- Pflugerville ISD – $3.6 million
