I recently read an article that seemed pretty negative to me about commercial real estate trends in Texas.  They felt that until the government solidifies all the tax rules the market will have a difficult time finding the bottom.  I have recently been scouting for  a couple commercial tracts, having end users for each, and it is difficult to find anything in a decent location that is available at a rate that customer could make work.  I suppose Austin is going to be the next Durango when it comes to number of restaurants per person. It will continue to be difficult for mom and pop business to make ends meet with the current cost of locations. Any way the better locations in town are extremely hard to find available.  I did hear that another couple Starbucks have closed shop…adn a Torchy’s is moving in on South Lamar close to Performance Bicycle and the new pub.
